Best Sedan Cars in India

A higher level of refinement is included with the restricted engine selection. The Yaris drives nicely at all engine speeds. Over 400 rpm might cause the engine to become fairly noisy. To acquire enough power at high rpm, you have to push the transmission pretty hard, and downshifting may be necessary while overtaking another vehicle at a high speed. The CTV version enables simple gear changes. Although the change is carried out smoothly and effortlessly, it could seem underpowered when accelerating. The manual version, on the other hand, has a six-speed gearbox and a light, straight shifter.

Hyundai Aura

The vehicle, which was created as an improved version of the Hyundai Xcent, has been given its own identity and is displayed next to the Hyundai Xcent. The all-new Hyundai Aura is essentially the sedan version of the Grand i10 Nios, with which it shares many similarities. The Hyundai Aura is a cutting-edge, contemporary vehicle with a strong ride quality and road presence as a whole.

Hyundai Aura - Exterior

The Hyundai Aura has a sporty and attractive front end thanks to its piano black hexagonal grille and two “Boomerang”-shaped LED daytime running lights. The projector headlamps wrapped in chrome and the smartly creased bonnet give the car’s front-end personality. The segment’s first projector fog lamps finish the look.

Hyundai Aura - Exterior

Many new features are also present in the side profile, including a shark-fin antenna, a black window line, and chrome door handles. The Hyundai Aura stands out, though, for its attention to detail. The car’s mood is completely improved by its enhanced wheel arches and cleverly incorporated character lines on the bonnet and side profile. For the first time ever, Hyundai also offered a strengthened C-pillar to give the vehicle a coupe-like appearance.

The Hyundai Aura’s rear is the most appealing aspect of the company’s new design. The rear of the car features “Z-shaped” LED tail lamps with a 3D outer lens and a chrome strip running across the boot, fully justifying the idea of being sensuously sporty. The sloping roofline and coupe-like black C-pillar give it a masculine appearance. The two parking sensors, rear camera, and license plate are all housed within the nicely sculpted rear bumper.

Hyundai Aura – Cabin and Practicality

Hyundai Aura - Cabin and Practicality

When compared to its main competitors, the all-new Hyundai Aura appears to perform exceptionally well in the interior department. Even though the i10 Nios’ interior is nearly identical overall, the Hyundai Aura has a unique color scheme and a sportier look than the turbocharged petrol model.

The cabin has the best overall fit and finish and most features in the segment. With a segment-leading 8″ touch screen and a variety of connectivity features, the brand-new Hyundai Aura sets the bar high. Additionally, the steering wheel is made to be multifunctional, with buttons for the cruise control in addition to those for Bluetooth and audio. The front grille and the passenger-side crash pad on the Aura are both hexagonal in shape, and both are exquisitely integrated.

Two USB charging ports, 12V power outlets, wireless charging, and a rear-view camera are all located below the infotainment system, along with the automatic climate control system. Other features give the interior of the Aura a premium feel, such as the cooled glove box, leather-wrapped steering, rear AC vents, keyless entry, push-button start, and electronically adjustable OVRMs.

The brand-new Hyundai Aura is equipped with dual airbags as standard, an emergency stop signal that is a first for its segment, reverse parking sensors, and ABS with EBD. Additional safety features for the Hyundai Aura include a driver’s rearview monitor, ISOFIX child support, and headlamp escort.

Hyundai Aura – Engine and Gearbox

Hyundai Aura - Engine and Gearbox

In terms of performance, the Hyundai Xcent, which preceded the Hyundai Aura, offered well-liked 1.2-liter gasoline and diesel engine options. With three BS6-compliant engine choices and two gearbox options, the all-new Hyundai Aura offers much more.

The tried-and-true 1.2-liter gasoline and diesel engines are now available with 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions, and they produce a maximum of 83 PS and 116 Nm of torque. The gasoline engine has improved significantly since the Hyundai Xcent and feels more potent than before.

Additionally, Hyundai added a segment-leading 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine to the brand-new Aura. The engine, which features brand-new EcoTorq technology, has a maximum output of 100 PS and 175 Nm of torque. The absolute rocket engine is relatively new to the subcompact sedan market and might be the ideal option for people who enjoy slamming on the gas.

Tata Tigor

Tata Tigor

Tata Motors has learned how to make its vehicles safer, sexier, sportier, and more upscale according to the Tata 2.0 philosophy. With the introduction of the Tata Tigor in 2017, what began with the Tata Tiago in 2016 was elevated. With its sharp looks, sporty stance, and performance-focused engine, a sedan built on Tata’s Impact Design Philosophy won over buyers.

The 2020 Tata Tigor has been improved both inside and out in order to build on the success of the previous generation Tata Tigor. This 2020 Tata Tigor review will highlight the reasons why you should consider purchasing this small sedan.

Tata Tigor – Exterior

Tata Tigor - Exterior

The way Tata’s automobiles looked and drove was drastically transformed by their Impact Design Philosophy. One distinctive feature of its little design that makes the Tata Tiago stand out from the sea of generic sedans is its notchback styling. It has a sporty and fashionable look thanks to the 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the roofline that slopes upward like on a coupé.

The 2020 Tata Tigor will also maintain this general design. The front of the Tata Tigor from the previous generation has changed significantly; the curved appearance has been replaced with a sharper aesthetic. The piano-black grille with silver tri-arrow elements and the more angular front headlights work together seamlessly. A new bumper with LED DRLs, a chrome band running across the front end, and some projector headlamps have been added to the front fascia. The new 2020 Tata Tigor has taillamps that resemble crystals, but the rear hasn’t undergone a significant change from the previous generation.

Tata Tigor – Cabin and Practicality

Tata Tigor - Cabin and Practicality Offering a really remarkable experience for both the interiors and the exteriors has always been a priority for Impact Design. This is the reason the roomy and stylish dashboard of the Tata Tigor never fails to impress. The thick steering wheel is comfortable to grasp and manipulate, and it has black triangle accents on the call and audio buttons. The fabric inserts on the doors raise the degree of overall opulence, while the knitted roof lining gives off a regal appearance.

Additionally, the Tata Tigor facelift receives new tri-element upholstery and a piano black finish surrounding the floating entertainment system, adding to the interior’s beauty. Not to be overlooked, the Tata Tigor also features automatic climate control and an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen that supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The eight-speaker Harman sound system, which is increasingly standard on Tata cars, is the interior experience’s icing on the cake.

In terms of interior size, the 2020 Tata Tigor offers a roomy and pleasant sitting experience, much like the model before the facelift. Regarding storage areas, the Tigor is adequately furnished with a number of bottle holders and a large, cold glove box. Given that the Tata Tigor is a car under 4 meters in length, the vehicle’s boot offers an astonishing 419 liters of space.

Tata Tigor - Safety Equipment

The Tata Tigor excels in this area, specifically safety. The Tata Tigor has achieved a 4-star Global NCAP rating, making it the safest vehicle in its category. This was made possible by Tata’s integration of heavier metal sheets and an updated safety kit. Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Corner Stability Control, rear parking sensors, and a camera are all included in the Tigor’s updated safety package.

Tata Tigor – Engine and Gearbox

Tata Tigor - Engine and Gearbox

The Tata Tigor’s powerful and dependable engine capabilities have proven to be a favorite among automobile consumers. The 2020 Tata Tigor is now powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated Revotron petrol engine that complies with BS6 and is capable of producing a maximum of 86 PS and a maximum torque of 114 Nm. Both a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox are compatible with the engine. The engine produces a respectable 20.3 Kmpl of mileage. The Tata Tigor’s overall drive quality provides excellent ride and handling.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

A sizable demand for a practical, roomy family sedan that was reasonably priced existed in the mid-to-late 2000s. This prompted the 2008 introduction of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. It quickly went on to become one of the brand’s fastest-selling automobiles in the nation, setting a pattern that is still evident today. The Swift hatchback and the Dzire, both currently in their third and most recent iterations, are both built on the Heartect platform.

The Dzire is offered in a number of variants with a variety of engine and gearbox choices, just like its hatchback sibling. Additionally, customers can request that Maruti Suzuki paint their specific vehicle in any of the following hues: Prime Oxford Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Metallic Magma Gray, Pearl Phoenix Red, Metallic Premium Silver, and Prime Sherwood Brown.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Exterior

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Exterior

The first model was large enough and was known as the “Swift Dzire,” but starting with the second generation, the sedan got smaller and lost the “Swift” moniker. The subcompact sedan from the third generation appears more appealing than the model it replaces. Each body panel not only looks easier on the eyes but also the overall body language is more sculpted.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Exterior

The Dzire’s redesigned grille and bumper are what set it apart from the Swift most noticeably up front. Of course, the Dzire’s status as a sedan makes the most obvious difference between the two even more clear when viewed from the side. In contrast to its previous iterations, Maruti Suzuki has done a good job of making the styling appear more cohesive and proportionate.

The tail lamps on the Dzire are designed differently from those on the Swift and have different LED clusters, giving the rear of the car a distinctive bottled with a thick chrome bar. With static reflectors at the bottom, the bumper is also of a new design. Although there aren’t a lot of aggressive creases or sharp angles, the Dzire does feature many curvy styling elements.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Cabin and Practicality

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Cabin and Practicality

The Swift hatchback’s sporty-looking interior stands in contrast to the Dzire’s airier, more upscale interior. Large amounts of light beige trim with champagne accents, faux wood inserts on the steering wheel, dashboard, and doors, as well as piano black and silver trim on the center console and driver’s display, have been used to achieve this.

Speaking of, the Swift’s instrument binnacle is essentially the same as the Dzire’s, but it features a more muted color scheme. The Maruti Dzire’s rear is equipped with a floor-mounted unit that incorporates an AC vent, a charging socket, and a small cubby for a phone to further its practical quality. But this sedan also has a center console that is angled toward the driver, just like the hatchback.

The Dzire’s rear pillars are not as thick as those found on the Swift, giving the driver a good view of the road. A side note: When using the IRVM to look back, the Dzire’s boot height restricts some of the views. Additionally, Swift’s HVAC panel has a different design and layout from this one, despite being just as user-friendly. Given that it is a sedan, the Maruti Dzire has a convenient 378-liter trunk.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Safety Equipment

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Safety Equipment

Maruti Suzuki has come to the conclusion that its vehicles require additional safety features over time. The Dzire sedan is equipped with twin airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, and ESP with Hill Hold Assist, among other standard features. Other safety bells and whistles included with the Dzire include a rear defogger, reverse parking sensors with a rearview camera, pre-tensioners for the front seatbelts, a day and night rearview mirror, and ISOFIX anchors.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Engine and Gearbox

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Engine and Gearbox

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s engine is identical to the Swift hatchbacks under the hood. The same K12N four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 89 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque, is referred to here. The same motor produces the same 98.5Nm of maximum torque and 76.4 horsepower when it is operated on CNG. Except for slight adjustments to the gear ratios, the drivetrain also doesn’t undergo many alterations.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Engine and Gearbox

The 5-speed AGS (AMT) gearbox, which is geared for high mileage rather than performance, is available with the Dzire and is in addition to the 5-speed manual gearbox. This is evidenced by the Dzire AMT’s impressive fuel efficiency rating of 22.61 kpl. The official mileage for the manual version is 22.41 kpl. The peak speed of the Dzire is comparable to the Swift’s, and it takes roughly the same amount of time to reach 100 kph.

AutoBreeds’s Choice

Choose the AMT version without a doubt if your primary motivation for purchasing this subcompact sedan is its fuel economy. It’s a very economical vehicle, in fact.

Skoda Rapid

Skoda Rapid

There are very few companies that can compete with the Czech carmaker Skoda when it comes to producing durable machines. Skoda, a manufacturer of automobiles that are known for being constructed to last a “lifetime,” initially entered the C-Segment sedan competition in 2011 when it first introduced the powerful yet fashionable Skoda Rapid. Nine years later, the Skoda Rapid has carved out a niche for itself while surpassing its cousin, the Volkswagen Vento.

Skoda Rapid - Cabin and Practicality

The adage “the first impression is the last impression” is frequently used. And if that’s the case, the Skoda Rapid unquestionably makes an excellent one. Skoda has developed the Rapid to be a car that is “Simply Clever” by designing it with simplicity, grace, and a powerful attitude.

The Skoda Rapid has a highly unique and upscale appearance thanks to the large “butterfly” grille that is directly bordered by an angular headlamp cluster. The headlight has a projector system with DRL LED lighting that switch off when the turn signals are activated, a feature that is often found on Audi vehicles. The Skoda Rapid’s bold, angular styling complements the Skoda brand’s aesthetics beautifully and gives it the appearance of being smaller than the Skoda Octavia.

The Skoda Rapid’s interior is somewhat more subdued but still highly upscale. The Skoda Rapid has the appearance of being more expensive than it actually is thanks to its 5-spoke alloy wheels and ORVMs with integrated LED indicators. The Skoda Rapid’s sophisticated appeal is further enhanced by its smoked taillamps. Additionally, some Skoda Rapid models can be had with a striking black roof to give it a sportier appearance.

The most recent Skoda Rapid vehicles have angular shapes compared to earlier variants. The upscale appearance of the Skoda Rapid, however, tends to age quite well across all versions. This is especially advantageous for individuals wanting to purchase a used Skoda Rapid since the external design will retain its high-end appeal over time.

Skoda Rapid – Cabin and Practicality

Skoda Rapid - Cabin and Practicality

The dual-tone mix of black and beige inside the Skoda Rapid is the first thing you’ll notice when you step inside. This combination gives the car a highly energizing feeling. The layout of the center console is practical and makes it simple for the driver to reach. Older versions will have a monochrome display whereas newer ones will have a touchscreen infotainment system.

Skoda will definitely provide comfort, you can count on that. Rear passengers may take advantage of the twin rear adjustable AC vents thanks to the automatic temperature control that is available. Telescopically adjustable controls for calls, media and cruise control are mounted on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, making them easy to use while driving. The Skoda Rapid also has a cooled glove box that keeps your snacks fresh for the ride, rain-sensing wipers with automatic frequency adjustment, and other features to make your trip convenient and comfortable.

Skoda Rapid - Cabin and Practicality

Even for passengers taller than 6 feet, there is enough head and legroom inside. The Skoda Rapid is a great automobile to possess for a long time because of its overall high quality and sturdy interiors. Consider a used Skoda Rapid because you can expect to find interiors that are in like-new condition even on used vehicles.

Safety is always prioritized highly in Skodas, and the Skoda Rapid is no exception. Electronic Stability Control, ABS with EBD, and twin front airbags are all standard safety equipment on the Skoda Rapid. Up to 4 airbags and an anti-theft system with interior monitoring are included in higher models.

Skoda Rapid – Engine and Gearbox

Skoda Rapid - Engine and Gearbox

Speaking about durable automobiles, Skoda is renowned for outfitting its models with powerful engines that can easily go over 2 lakh miles. A 1.5-liter TDI diesel engine and a 1.6- or 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine are both offered for the Skoda Rapid. Both a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox are options for gearboxes. The ARAI-rated mileage for a gasoline engine is 15.41 km/l, while a diesel engine gets 21.72 km/l.

Skoda engines have demonstrated their durability throughout time. For those searching for an engine that is strong and dependable, this characteristic alone makes thinking about a used Skoda Rapid an appealing option. The Skoda Rapid’s DSG automatic transmission further enhances the quality driving experience you can anticipate.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

In the Indian auto industry, the sedan segment is one of the most well-liked and quickly-selling car segments. Sedans appeal to both millennials and baby boomers because they have longer, more streamlined bodies and a variety of high-end features. Additionally, with so many diverse options currently available on the market, it is uncommon for one particular model to establish a reputation for itself. However, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is the one vehicle that has succeeded in winning over the hearts of the general public and creating a lasting legacy.

The Ciaz was created with modern touches that set it apart from all other Maruti vehicles, including Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology, or S-TECT. But it also managed to incorporate Maruti’s distinctive three-slat rectangular grille and traditional styling all over the body. The Ciaz added a touch of modernity with its large projector headlamps and long rectangular tail lamp. With 16-inch alloy wheels and chrome trim, the Ciaz’s exoskeleton at the time had the largest footprint of any sedan.

Although the Ciaz was an attractive and proportionate vehicle, some customers desired more from the exterior styling. And in 2018, Maruti Suzuki introduced the Ciaz facelift with the NEXA badge in order to better serve its incredibly dispersed fan base. In order to provide its users with a first-rate and premium experience, the facelift version persisted. The Ciaz’s exterior underwent significant cosmetic changes for the facelift version, including a new grille with sleek chrome edges and black accents.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz - Exterior

The new and sharper-looking pair of headlamps, which come with both a DRL and an LED projector headlamp, is supported by the front design of the car. The Ciaz’s redesigned front bumper, which features a big air dam and LED fog lamps, adds to its aggressive styling. Maruti also added redesigned LED tail lamps and a more streamlined boot for the rear design. The facelifted Ciaz is even more luxurious and upscale thanks to its 12-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels and subtle chrome accents. It’s understandable why the Ciaz continues to be the best-selling premium sedan vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz – Cabin and Practicality

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz - Cabin and Practicality

The Ciaz had an enormously spacious cabin with a tonne of head and legroom, even in the back. The Ciaz’s dash was designed to be both functional and stylish. It is subtle but elegant. A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that was simple to use and navigate dominated the center console. The best plastic and chrome were used in the interior of all Maruti cars, and the steering wheel was equipped with audio and call controls. The 2014 model also received high marks for practicality because it provided 1-liter bottle compartments for each of the four passengers. The boot, which has a capacity of 510 liters, was definitely large even though the glove box wasn’t that big.

It was given an even more encouraging position by the Ciaz. The facelift version still managed to include changes despite the majority of the interior details remaining largely unchanged, such as a new 4.2-inch TFT MID to display crucial information that now includes not only fuel consumption but also energy flow, driving range, trip details, and shift indicator. The Ciaz also has new cruise control buttons and an updated steering wheel. The infotainment experience has been improved even further thanks to additional features like the availability of Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

The Maruti Ciaz 2014 model offered features like camera-assisted parking sensors, rear and front defoggers, ABS, and dual airbags in terms of safety. Additional safety features like the S-TECT body structure, engine immobilizer, and anti-theft system made the Ciaz feel safer.

The facelift version later added safety features like ABS with EBD, Hill holds control, ESP, speed-sensing door locks, ISOFIX mounts, etc. The Maruti Suzuki received a 4-star safety rating during ASEAN NCAP testing, demonstrating its high level of safety.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz – Engine and Gearbox

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz - Engine and Gearbox

The Maruti brand is well-known for its exemplary performance that stands the test of time. The 1.4-liter K14-Series petrol engine and the 1.3-liter Multi-Jet diesel engine were two of Maruti’s well-known engine lineups that were available for the Ciaz. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz had two different engine options from 2014 to 2017. The petrol version had a maximum power of 91.1 bhp and a maximum torque of 130 Nm, while the diesel version had a maximum power of 88.5 bhp and a maximum torque of 200 Nm. The Ciaz was a technological trailblazer thanks to Maruti’s inclusion of smart hybrid brake regeneration technology in the diesel model. Both variations were equipped with either a 4-speed AMT automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission.

However, the facelift version of 2018 introduced a new and refined 1.5 liter K-Series engine that could produce 103 bhp along with 138 Nm of peak torque for those who yearned for the smart hybrid system in the petrol variant. Mild Hybrid Technology was installed in the 2018 facelift variant’s new petrol engine. Despite the fact that the diesel engine remained the same, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz boasts impressive fuel economy ratings of 21.56 km/l for gasoline and 28.9 km/l for diesel. As of right now, the Ciaz is only available with a 1.5 litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual and 4-speed AMT transmissions, which will comply with BS6 norms in 2020.

The front of the Toyota Yaris has a sporty appearance thanks to the extra-wide cascading horizontal slatted grille, which is reminiscent of one on the Camry, the long, thin headlamp, which is connected to the thin grille with the Toyota logo in the middle, the curved foglight unit, and the sharp shoulder lines. Additionally, the Yaris has a projector LED DRL headlight, which is noteworthy.

Additionally, the Yaris stands out when viewed from the side. The black roof, darkened windows, and ORVMs all effectively reflect the two-tone paint scheme. Strong rising shoulder lines and fashionable alloy wheels are present.

The Toyota Yarish’s rear end is posh and elegant, featuring a charming rear bumper, taillights with LED accents, and a well-sculpted tailgate that houses a large Toyota badge.

Toyota Yaris – Cabin and Practicality

Toyota Yaris - Cabin and Practicality The air vents and center console are contoured by the dashboard’s beige-black dual-tone with a few chrome accents. The gloss black garnish on the head unit elevates the luxury. Additionally, the leather upholstery on the seats, armrests, and steering is of a high caliber and has a genuine leather feel.

The back bench passengers may make use of the highly efficient roof-mounted AC vent’s comfort. This air vent has the ability to release cool airflow for either the rear or the front, which means that, in the event that the rear seats are vacant, it could increase the cooling effect for the front passenger by two. Special amenities for the back passengers include a manual sunshade, 12V sockets, and individual reading lamps.

The contemporary instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch MID, which displays data such as the temperature, fuel usage, and distance till empty, is another feature of the backseat.

With seven airbags, ABS with EBD, braking assist, central locking, and ISOFIX child seats as part of its standard safety feature package, Toyota goes above and beyond. The higher variations come with hill-hold assistance, vehicle stability control, parking sensors on both ends, and a rear camera.

Toyota Yaris – Engine and Gearbox

Toyota Yaris - Engine and Gearbox

Toyota only offers the 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine as a choice of engine. The engine could produce 140 Nm of torque and 107 PS of power. Either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT transmission is mated to it. Paddle shift is included with the CTV

There is more refinement in the limited engine offer. Throughout the rev range, the Yaris drives smoothly. Beyond 400 rpm, the engine might become quite noisy. Downshifting may be necessary when overtaking while traveling at a high speed because high revs require a lot of effort from the gearbox.

Gear changes are simple in the CTV version. Although the shift is completed with ease and fluidity, it may feel underpowered when accelerating. The six-speed manual transmission version, on the other hand, has a light and direct shifter.

Autobreeds Choice

While the base and lower variants are decently kitted and priced competitively, it is the V(O) CVT that is our pick of the Yaris range.

Volkswagen Vento

Volkswagen Vento

One of the most well-liked auto market segments in India is the sedan market. Sedans entice those who prefer a more opulent driving experience by providing a longer, sleeker body and a variety of high-end features. A particular model rarely leaves a lasting legacy because there are so many diverse options available right now. The Volkswagen Vento is the only vehicle that has been able to deliver and establish a name for itself. The Volkswagen Vento is an exceptionally capable car that has established a name for itself in India. It recently celebrated its 11th anniversary there.

Volkswagen Vento – Exterior

Volkswagen Vento - Exterior

The Vento, a basic yet stylish German design, is built on the Volkswagen Vento chassis. The Vento has a timeless design as a consequence, which helps it age gracefully.

Overall, the headlamps of the VW Vento have a simple, swept-back shape that looks chic and contemporary. The horizontal grille, which has a prominent Volkswagen mark in the middle, was located on either side of the headlights. DRLs were an option on higher variants of the Vento in 2021 models, although earlier vehicles did not have them. Muscle creases on the bonnet extend from the grille’s edge and merge with the A-pillars. The Vento’s overall design has clean, simple lines that enable a fusion of angular German design with curving aesthetics.

Volkswagen Vento - Exterior

Despite having the same basis as the VW Polo, the Vento isn’t merely a hasty extension job like some other small sedans, as seen by the side profile. The VW Vento, on the other hand, maintains its proportions despite having a 168mm rise in ground clearance and an obviously higher suspension. The big seven-spoke alloys have a stylish appearance.

The VW Vento is officially the Skoda Rapid’s relative even though it is built on the Polo. The car’s basic tail lamp design and big body-colored bumper make this most obvious on the back. The vehicle’s rear adds to its general German motif and provides it with a unified, exquisite appearance in terms of the overall design.

Volkswagen Vento – Cabin and Practicality

Volkswagen Vento - Cabin and Practicality

Heavy doors with a three-stage opening and closing motion make entering the Vento simple. As soon as you step inside, the interiors’ straight lines, which are representative of traditional German design, will catch your eye. Since the goal is to offer the greatest amount of functionality, there is nothing pre-built. Grey and beige are used in the Vento’s dual-tone interior, with a few chrome accents thrown in here and there. This sedan has the best fit and finishes available in its class. The components of the interior are well-designed and durable. The cabin is very spacious and comfortable thanks to the large glass area.

The front seat is a good size, but the best feature is the excellent back support that cradles the whole spine. Even tall passengers will find themselves in a comfortable posture because of the exceptional head and leg room. The center armrest may be adjusted, exactly like the driver’s seat. With a chrome garnish at the bottom, the steering receives reach and rake adjustments as well as steering controls. Older models had a double din audio setup in the center console; current vehicles had a touchscreen infotainment system. It is followed by a cost-effective, user-friendly temperature control system. When it comes to the driver’s display, there is a square digital MID in between the speedometer and tachometer.

When it comes to the back, the Vento introduced a first for the segment: the front passenger seat could be adjusted by the back passengers. Additionally, there is a set of independent direction-control rear air conditioning vents available. Even tall rear passengers are able to sit comfortably behind the Vento due to the improved knee room provided by the extended wheelbase. A good boot space option for families is the VW Vento, which has 494 litres of usable space.

Volkswagen Vento – Safety Equipment

Volkswagen Vento - Safety Equipment

The VW Vento is the epitome of safety, to put it mildly. ABS and two airbags are included as standard equipment on the small sedan. The VW Vento’s safety credentials are also further enhanced by the inclusion of the window anti-pinch feature, ESP, and Hill holds control. Given its 5-star ratings from both the Latin NCAP and the ASEAN NCAP, the VW Vento is a strong contender to be named among the safest vehicles available for purchase in India.

Volkswagen Vento – Engine and Gearbox

Volkswagen Vento - Engine and Gearbox

Based on consumer demand and general expectations, Vento has had a remarkable journey in terms of power. The Vento has experienced a number of revisions over its entire manufacturing run, offering more than 4 distinct engine options, each of which was an improvement over the one before it.

The VW Vento has always been renowned for its sporty driving characteristics. The Vento is a really engaging car to drive as a decent small sedan. Crisp handling and decent ride quality are both present. Although the suspension system is a little firm, it helps reduce body roll. At triple-digit speeds, the steering feels good and inspires a lot of confidence because the braking is also very sharp. The Vento’s diesel engine has excellent noise, vibration, and harshness levels and can deliver satisfying performance.

Volkswagen Virtus - Exterior

The Volkswagen Virtus is an artistic masterpiece, and to say it is gorgeous would be an understatement. The Virtus is built on the MQB A0-IN platform, which also supports the VW Taigun, Skoda Slavia, and Skoda Kushaq, and has styling that is more comparable to VW’s worldwide flagships, the Jetta and the Passat. This Volkswagen sedan has a sleek front end with modest sharp contours and a robust appearance. The three chrome-finished bars with the Volkswagen mark in the center are housed in a sleek hexagonal grille that has a very somber appearance. The large glossy black bumper, the large fog lamps, the sleek LED headlamp cluster, and the LED DRLs that appear to be an extension of the grille cleverly enhance the appeal.

Volkswagen Virtus - Exterior

As you come to the side, you’d see a neat design combining the sedate and sporty character. In addition to the sloping roofline, the sharp shoulder lines and neat creases at the bottom boast of its aerodynamic caliber. Moreover, you’d find the inviting side profile smartly garnished with chromed door handles and windows frame and the stylish 16-inch razor-cut alloy wheels.

A chromed character line that wraps around the reflectors to outline them cleverly underlines the elegant rear. Sharp curves and edges subtly emphasize the sporty aesthetics as split LED tail lamps reminiscent of the Jetta dominate the rear styling. You’ll spend a few enjoyable minutes admiring VW’s design aesthetic due to the overall rear appearance.

Volkswagen Virtus – Cabin and Practicality

Volkswagen Virtus - Cabin and Practicality

In India, Volkswagen’s superior quality does not require an introduction. When you get inside, you’ll see that the interiors are a carryover from the VW Taigun midsize SUV. The dashboard’s touchscreen system is built right into the dual-tone glossy black finish, which tapers to the left. The plush front seats are made to be as comfortable as possible while providing a clear view out of the windshield.

A comfortable three-person fit is provided by the rear seat, which fits within the 1752mm width. With all-black upholstery on the Virtus GT version, the interior is decorated in a dual-tone black and beige color scheme. You can count on a comfortable ride thanks to the roomy interior, elegant leatherette upholstery, and the ideal height and reclination ratio.

Rich volumes of convenience go hand in hand with rich volumes of comfort. As a driver, you’d appreciate the fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, adjustable steering that resembles an SUV, mounted controls, and cruise control. There are also plenty of amenities for the passengers, such as a sunroof, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-speaker sound system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, connected car technology, and wireless charging.

The high-caliber construction of Virtus is assured by Volkswagen’s strict safety requirements. Additionally, VW added six airbags, traction control, ABS with EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera to the Virtus.

Volkswagen Virtus – Engine and Gearbox

Volkswagen Virtus - Engine and Gearbox

Volkswagen has placed a strong emphasis on creating vehicles for enthusiasts, as evidenced by the Volkswagen Virtus’ powertrains. Two petrol engines with turbocharging are installed in the midsize sedan. A 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine, also found in the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Slavia, will power the Dynamic line variant. A 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission are paired with the engine, which has 115 HP and 175 Nm of torque.

Volkswagen Virtus - Engine and Gearbox

A 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine with 150 HP and 250 Nm of torque will be included in the GT line variant to better serve the enthusiasts. An automatic transmission with a 7-speed DSG ratio or a 6-speed manual transmission can be used with this engine.

Honda City

Honda City

Since 1998, when the first Honda City debuted in the nation, Honda City has gone through four generations in the Indian market. The Honda City has been on the road for more than 20 years, but despite this, it has continued to update in order to keep up with the competition and redefine itself as the most sought-after sedan in India. With a new front fascia, updated interior added features, and updated powertrain system, the Honda City receives a completely new look.

Honda City – Exterior

Honda City - Exterior

The latest Honda City is unquestionably eye-catching. Compared to the previous model, it has a much longer hood with sharper creases, sharp-looking full-LED headlamps that flank a thick chrome slat with the Honda logo in the center, and a nice set of DRLs. The new City’s revised bumper boasts numerous creases around the headlamps and fog lamps in the lower part. The vehicle adopts a lower stance, which increases the subcompact sedan’s dynamism level.

Honda City - Exterior

Here, the new-generation City’s improved proportions are more noticeable, and its enormous length effectively amplifies the vehicle’s upscale appearance. Unfortunately, compared to the previous-generation model, the hood line appears flattered and doesn’t seamlessly meld with the pillars. Additionally, despite having a set of 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels from the RS specification, they still appear a little undersized below the car. The Japanese Katana sword serves as the model for the Honda City 2020’s razor-sharp body line, which extends from the front wheel arches to the taillamps.

The 2020 Honda City’s rear end is very stunning. The Z-shaped LED components in the taillamps’ elegant, wraparound design create a great dotted appearance. Honda doesn’t add any chrome to the new City’s tail end, which may disappoint some people. However, we do believe that even without the chrome, it still looks good. With two perfectly positioned reflectors on the edges, the rear bumper has even more creases than the front bumper. On the roof is also installed a shark-fin antenna.

Honda City – Cabin and Practicality

Honda City - Cabin and Practicality

The interior of the Honda City has also undergone extensive updating, both in terms of design and functionality. The dashboard is divided into two sections and has a layout that is much more elegant than the previous model. There are some leather inserts on the dash as well.

With two vertically mounted AC vents on either side, the 8.0-inch touchscreen entertainment system dominates the center of the dashboard. Honda showed consideration by giving the top of the dashboard a black finish, taking every precaution to prevent reflection on the windscreen. The touchscreen’s placement is the only thing I don’t like about this, though. The screen has a nice touch responsiveness, but its poor positioning makes it difficult for drivers to see, especially on sunny days. Due to the dual-tone black-beige finish, it appears and feels lighter.

Honda City - Cabin and Practicality

Nearly all of the features that a premium sedan model should have been included in Honda’s 2020 City. To create a driver-focused interior for the new City, Honda has just burned the midnight oil. The new City has a number of notable features, including an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, and Alexa Remote, a premium sound system with four speakers and four tweeters, climate control with physical knobs, a 7.0-inch multi-color TFT screen with an analog speedometer, keyless entry with remote engine start, rear AC vents, automatic door lock and unlock, telescoping and tilting steering, sunroof, and driver’

Honda City - Safety Equipment

The new Honda City has a tonne of safety features, which is impressive. With six available airbags, it is one of the safest vehicles. Additionally, there are many other safety features like ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring, ESC, hill-start assist, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, rain-sensing wipers, Lane watch camera, seatbelt reminder, auto-dimming IRVM, rear parking camera, auto headlamps, and many others.

Honda City – Engine and Gearbox

Honda City - Engine and Gearbox

In its most recent incarnation, the all-new Honda City is offered with two engine choices under the hood: a 1.5-liter petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT, as well as a 1.5-liter diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine is tuned to produce 100 PS at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque measured at 1750 rpm, whereas the petrol engine can produce 121 PS of maximum power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm.

We can all agree that Honda’s i-VTEC petrol engines are, to put it mildly, enjoyable to drive, entertaining to crank, and refined. These all complement the 2020 Honda City rather nicely. With only one touch of the start-stop button, it seems like it has enough power to roar to life at the first rev. We hardly ever experience interior vibrations in the sedan at high or mid-range rpm, while it is completely silent at idle. Over 3,000 rpm, it emits a sound that might even tempt you to press the pedal more frequently.

Autobreeds Choice

Most sedan buyers should be satisfied with the well-priced and well-equipped V variant because it has the features to compete with some of its competitors’ top variants.

Skoda Superb

Skoda Superb

The Skoda Superb has consistently performed above expectations ever since the first-generation model went on sale in India in 2004. The Superb has always been a brilliantly-rounded model that’ll make you wonder why you’d need to pay so much more for a similar-sized German luxury sedan. It’s well-built, incredibly roomy, pleasant to drive, and even good value for what it offers. The Skoda Superb undergoes some cosmetic changes, receives a few feature updates, and makes the dramatic switch to petrol-only power for 2020.

The thinner headlamps that now meld into the somewhat bigger grille are the greatest indications that this is the most recent Superb model. The Superb’s new front bumper contributes to its larger appearance, and in L&K trim vehicles, the air dam has been redesigned to be flanked by aerodynamic Air Curtains.

According to the automaker’s most recent style update, the boot lid logo at the back has been replaced with ‘SKODA’ writing. The full-LED taillights have also been re-profiled, and a chrome band that spans the width of the tail now divides them in half. The rear bumper has been beautifully decorated with chrome as well. A set of stylish new 17-inch alloy wheels finishes the transformation.

Sportline-grade automobiles include sharper blacked-out detailing on the grille, windshield, and tail. They may also be distinguished by a subtle lip spoiler on the trunk lid. The Superb distinguishes itself from Sportline or L&K with its well-balanced design and refined aesthetics.

Skoda Superb – Cabin and Practicality

Skoda Superb - Cabin and Practicality

The Superb interior has a luxurious vibe because of its liberal use of soft-touch materials, exquisite craftsmanship (the door pockets are stuffed with felt! ), and an overall sense of being well-made. Additionally, it is smartly laid up, with all crucial controls within easy reach. If anything, the dashboard appears unoriginal.

Be aware that the Superb Sportline’s interior adopts a sportier all-black theme while the L&K’s interior sports a more traditional black-on-beige theme. Alcantara upholstery, sportier front seats with integrated headrests, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and digital dials all come standard on the Sportline and promise a sportier driving experience as well.

In the L&K, the people in the front seats don’t have it too bad either. Large and supportive chairs with 12-way motorized adjustability make it very simple to reach a comfortable posture. However, as this is a Superb, most buyers will be more interested in the back seats. The news is wonderful as usual. With the ‘Boss Button,’ which causes the front passenger seat to glide forward, the L&K’s already excellent legroom may be improved even more for the crucial rear left passenger. New, Kodiaq-like rear head restraints with fold-down extensions to prevent side-to-side head movement are only available on the Superb L&K.

Skoda Superb – Safety Equipment

Skoda Superb - Safety Equipment

With a wide array of crash-prevention features, the Superb is also without a doubt one of the most cutting-edge and secure Skoda models ever produced. Due to this, the vehicle received a strong five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests, with ratings of 86% for both adult and child occupant protection.

Blind spot detection, which prevents you from changing lanes when another vehicle is in the danger zone, and lane assist, which automatically nudges the steering wheel to keep you inside the white lines denoting your lane, are two of the available safety features for the Superb.

Skoda Superb – Engine and Gearbox

Skoda Superb - Engine and Gearbox

The most recent 2.0-liter direct-injection, turbo-petrol engine from the VW Group powers 2020 Superb, which is only available with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine produces 320Nm of torque at 1,450–4,200 rpm and 190 horsepower between 4,200–6,000 rpm. That’s a 10hp and a substantial 70Nm increase over the 1.8 TSI-DSG combination of the previous Superb.

We are pleased to report that the new 2.0 TSI engine is even more capable than a fan of the older 1.8 TSI engine. The engine is remarkably refined and smooth at typical city speeds, and its responsiveness of it makes the big Superb feel surprisingly light on its feet. When you accelerate more enthusiastically, the engine quickly takes on a different personality. A noticeable tug can be felt in the mid-range, which is followed by a steady charge to 6,000 rpm and an amusing snarl from the engine. The quick-shifting gearbox does a good job of playing the supporting role while the engine always feels alert, ready, and willing. Although the DSG gearbox’s shifts aren’t as smooth as they would be in a torque converter automatic, this is far from a weakness. Dedicated drivers will enjoy taking manual control using the gear lever and paddles.

The updated Superb’s launch control is a feature worth mentioning because it performs remarkably well. The Superb 2.0 TSI recorded an 8.43-second launch control-aided 0-100kph time when put to the test on a wet road. It will be simple to match Skoda’s claimed 7.7 second 0-100kph time under typical test conditions. Surprisingly, the 2.0 TSI outperformed the old 1.8 TSI by a full tenth in terms of acceleration in wet conditions! The Superb’s old and new kick down timings don’t differ significantly, but we won’t be able to make a final determination until we have the results of the test.

Autobreeds Choice

The Sportline model costs about 32 lakh rupees, while the L&K variant is Rs 3 lakh more expensive. It is important to note that the Superb is the only luxury sedan offered in this price range on the Indian market.

Verdict

The finest car to buy mostly relies on your needs and financial situation. Entry-level sedans like the Amaze, Dzire, and Aura satisfy the fundamental criteria for a sedan. These have a high fuel efficiency rating but a little lower performance and comfort rating. The following four vehicles provide the best of both worlds in terms of performance and interior space: the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Skoda Slavia. The Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia, and Toyota Camry are the top three vehicles in every category, including comfort, performance, and features. These, however, are expensive and ineffective. As previously indicated, the best course of action when purchasing a sedan is to pick one that meets your needs.
